All Bullets Shatter: Uncounted Stories of Gun Violence and Trauma

THE RECORDING OF THE LIVE EVENT WILL BE ON DEMAND SOON!

Our opening event on May 5th was a roundtable discussion on both the power of art in healing trauma, and a coordinated call to action to demand essential (and life-saving) counseling services for suffering individuals and families in the Twin Cities. To continue this effort, submissions for the second “All Bullets Shatter” exhibition will be coming early 2023, with the goal of having our online archive of art and stories begin construction soon after the 2023 exhibition.

To allow traumatized humans to heal, it is essential to amplify the stories of these unheard victims.  So in an attempt to pay this privilege and gratitude forward, the students at the Institute for Digital Humanity and the Institute of Aesthetic Advocacy are creating a permanent “living” archive of art and stories on trauma: “All Bullets Shatter.” Inspired by the far too common and rampant gun violence in Minneapolis, artistic responses about all types of trauma are welcome and encouraged.

Because of the “living” nature of this archive, there will be multiple events showcasing the art. We already had one showing in Spring 2022, with more to follow (and the launch of our online archive!) in 2023. Submissions for this next exhibition with begin before you know it, so stay connected!
